Challenges in Computing

On 14 and 15 December 2011, Simula marks the occasion of 10 years of operation by hosting the conference Challenges in Computing. In the conference, Simula wants to focus on future challenges in our research fields, by letting world leading scientists and technologists share their visions and their thoughts on what the next decades might bring.

The Norwegian Minister of Research and Education, Tora Aasland, will conduct the opening of the conference on Wednesday 14 December.

Collaboration with Springer
During the ten years of operation, Simula has developed a strong collaboration with the world-leading scientific publisher Springer Verlag. Springer aims at publishing a book under the headline Challenges in Computing, and will include interviews with the speakers at the conference.

At the conference, the Springer Computational Science and Engineering Award 2011 will be presented.
