Professor Aslak Tveito

Managing Director

Aslak Tveito, managing director of the Simula group, has worked at Simula Research Laboratory since the company was established in 2001. Tveito is professor in scientific computing at the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo. Prior to his appointment as managing director, Tveito served as research director for the scientific computing department at Simula. In addition to his work with the University of Oslo, Tveito has served as chief scientist at Sintef Applied Mathematics.

Ottar Hovind

Deputy Managing Director

Ottar Hovind joined Simula in 2007. Hovind holds a degree in law (cand.jur) from University of Oslo, and has a master's degree in international commercial law from London School of Economics. Before he joined Simula as director, he was involved in different projects at Simula through his law company JusIt. Hovind has worked with the law firm Ræder Advokatfirma.

Professor Are Magnus Bruaset

Director of Simula School of Research and Innovation

Are Magnus Bruaset is managing the subsidiary Simula School of Research and Innovation. Bruaset has worked at Simula since 2003. During his tenure, Bruaset has served as director of Research Education and Director of Research Applications, assistant director of Simula School of Research and Innovation, and as head of the Computational Geosciences project. Bruaset is professor in scientific computing at the Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo. Formerly, he has served as senior research scientist at Sintef Applied Mathematics, and been an entrepreneur in the software industry.

Audun Fosselie Hansen

Director of Simula Innovation

Audun Fosselie Hansen joined Simula in 2003. He is currently director the subsidiary Simula Innovation AS. During his tenure with Simula, he has completed a PhD degree within the field of Network and distributed systems and served as the project leader of the SimTel project. He has also co-founded and served as the CEO of the start-up company Resiliens that commercializes results from the PhD work. Between 2001 and 2008, Hansen has also worked as a researcher in Telenor.

Marianne M. Sundet

Director of Administration

Marianne M. Sundet is responsible for the organization's administration. She is overseeing the administrative operations, including human resources, communications, as well as corporate development initiatives. Sundet joined Simula in 2007, and she holds a master of philosophy from the University of Oslo.
