In 2007, World Beside AS was established, jointly owned by the University of Oslo and Simula.
The company develops educational software based on advanced multi-player game technology, funded by the school authorities in Oslo, StatoilHydro, and the University of Oslo. The first public product release is scheduled for 2009. World Beside AS made it to the final for the DnBNOR innovation award in 2008. Simula owns about 20% of the shares.
