Post Doctoral Researcher in the Resilient Networks project
Resilient Networks is a research project funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communications. The goal of the project is to develop new insights and practical solutions that make networks and networked applications more robust against a range of operational challenges. The project started in 2011 and will run for 5 years, with a total budget of around 5 million Euros. The project has a strong focus on measurements and evaluations in real production networks, and consists of several Research Engineers, Post Docs and PhD students.
We seek a Post Doc researcher who will focus on robustness in mobile broadband networks. A central resource in this work will be a large-scale measurement infrastructure that monitors the state of all major mobile broadband networks in Norway. This infrastructure is operated with support from several mobile network operators.
The successful candidate holds a PhD in computer science or a related discipline, and has a strong publication record. Experience with network measurements, mobile networks or data analysis will be an advantage. Excellent command of English (written and spoken) and good communication skills is a requirement. The post doc will be involved in supervision of graduate students, and will play a central role in the scientific development of the Resilient Networks project. The position is for 4 years, with an annual starting salary of NOK 488 000 (approximately 63 000 Euros / 82 000 USD).
