Currently my duty is to work with all of Simula, providing guidelines, strategic advise, and help towards increasing our external research funding. One of my main targets is to increase our participation in the EU framework programmes. Although this is a field with a large degree of uncertainty and many factors must be taken into account, we have had some limited—the RITE project, http://riteproject.eu, is funded by fp7-ICT and started 1. November 2012 with Simula as co-ordinator. We are constantly pursuing other opportunities in the various EU research grant schemes.
In my tenure at Simula I served as head of IT and scientific programmer from the company was established in 2001; IT Manager since January 2004; and from 2009 until the fall of 2011 I served as Director of Administration before I took on the current task as Director of External Research Funding.
I received the Cand. Scient degree in applied mathematics at the Department of Matematics, University of Oslo in 1995, and the degree of Dr. Scient in scientific computing, in 2006. The Dr. Scient work was done in the Scientific Computing department at Simula and the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo.
