I am a master's student doing a degree in mathematics at Simula/University of Oslo. My specialty is partial differential equations, and more specifically fluid structure interaction problems, which are the topic of my thesis. My supervisors are Anders Logg and Marie Rognes. Before moving to Oslo I worked as a software engineer/ SAP IT consultant in Freiburg, Germany and my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics was completed at Trent University in Canada. Before becoming fascinated by numbers and algorithms I initially wanted to be an environmental scientist, and I continue to be interested in environmental issues until today. Some of my other hobbies are bicycling, capoeira, classical guitar, and playing with my daughter Lyra Sophie Balaban.
