Lyudmyla Vynnytska joined Simula in May 2010 as a postdoctoral fellow of Computational Geoscience Group. She received BS and MS in Applied Mathematics and completed her PhD in Mathematical Modelling and Computational Methods at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine). Lyudmyla is working in the field of modelling of large-scale geodynamical processes and calibration of depositional models.
Research Interests
- Geodynamical modelling
- FEM
- Solving inverse problems using duality technique
Research Activities
The work is mostly centered around numerical simulations of geophysical processes, in particular, continental rifting and deposition of sediments. Research activities also involve the development of software using FENICS. Another field of study is calibration of depositional model, which is a kind of inverse problem.
