I joined Simula School of Research and Innovation as a postdoc in the Geocomputational Geoscience group in 2011, where I am involved in the 5D PaleoEarth project.
Education
I received my Diplom in Structural Geology at the University of Tuebingen. My focus for my Diplom thesis was mapping, interpretation and 3-D visualisation of geological structures in NE Spain.
My PhD at the University of Victoria, BC, Canada focused on high-precision GPS measurements and numerical viscoelastic modeling of current crustal deformation, as well as thermal modeling of the seismogenic zone of the Sumtra megathrust fault.
Main Research Interests
- plate reconstruction
- investigating current tectonic processes and deformation
- geodesy (high-precision GPS)
- numerical modeling
