M3.2 Viable Business Models
Milestone M3.2 Celtic project CP5-013 MARCH - Multilink architecture for multiplay services
In a multilink network, services can be delivered by simultaneous use of several access network technologies, like fixed, mobile and broadcast. The benefits of using multiple access networks simultaneously can be increased throughput, better coverage and increased robustness of the services. A potential consequence of such performance gains could be introduction of new and more quality demanding applications. The development of a multilink network has to be based on solid business models where the customer needs and the different player’s perspectives are taken into account. It is important to identify the most viable business models in order to guide the technical development. In this document, we present the first qualitative analysis of some business scenarios, using some pre-defined evaluation criteria for business models. We have used scenarios from deliverable D2.2 as examples for analysing the viability of the business models. The business case analysis presented here are preliminary examples, which will be verified and enhanced in later deliverables.
