2-year Postdoc position available at Simula in Explainable Machine Learning and NLP for software engineering

Project and Job description

In the Department of Validation Intelligence of Autonomous Systems at Simula, we are looking for a Postdoctoral researcher to work on explainable machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) for software engineering. The position will last for 2 years.

The position is funded by an EU project that is developing a machine-learning-based solution for the continuous certification and recertification of software. To this end, the Postdoctoral researcher will work on explainable models and NLP techniques for increasing the transparency of (re-)certification process, including explainable traceability support linking requirements and all relevant certification artifacts such as test case results, formal proofs, and other evidence, to build the understanding of which artifacts contribute to the need for recertification. Today there exist no tools that can provide transparent automated software re-certification with the goal to enable the user to understand the causes of non-compliance between certified software and compliance requirements. The focus of the Postdoctoral researcher will be to develop open-source tools for this purpose, therefore hands-on experience with NLP or explainable ML is needed.
