Practical Information
Financing
Simula will offer all accepted applicants travel grants designed to cover major costs associated with travel to/from Oslo and/or San Diego (up to a combined maximum of 16000 NOK). Accommodation for enrolled students will be arranged and provided free of charge.
PLEASE NOTE:
Accommodation - covered for students that must travel long-distance to the summer school, not for those that live locally. For example, students from Oslo will not receive paid accommodation for the June portion of the course but will receive paid accommodation for the August portion of the course in San Diego, USA.
Meals - the majority of meals will be provided free of charge. However, students should expect to cover the cost of approximately one meal (lunch or dinner) per day.
Visa requirements
Participants from North America will not require a visa to attend the June portion of the course in Oslo.
Norwegian and European participants may be eligible for the United States Visa Waiver program, ESTA, for the La Jolla portion of the course taking place in August.
Third-country applicants may require visas to attend both portions of the course.
PLEASE NOTE: It is the student's responsibility to apply for and acquire all necessary visas. Simula may be able to assist in providing some documentation needed for the application.
