Digital Twin: Architectures, Networks, and Applications

Digital Twin: Architectures, Networks, and Applications

The Simula SpringerBriefs on Computing book series provides introductions to select areas of research in computing that can otherwise be inaccessible. In volume 16 of the series, Digital Twin - Architectures, Networks, and Applications, Yan Zhang addresses Digital Twin (DT) technology for a target audience of senior undergraduates, postgraduates, educators, scientists, researchers, developers, engineers, innovators and research strategists.

The book starts with the basic concepts, models, and network architectures of DT. Then, it highlights challenges and opportunities where DT meets edge computing, blockchain, artificial intelligence, and distributed machine learning (e.g., federated learning and multi-agent deep reinforcement learning). Finally, it presents DT as an enabling technology for 6G networks, aerial-ground networks, and unmanned aerial vehicles and illustrates the design and implementation of DT for 6G and internet of things.
