Since august 2008 I have been working at Statsbygg (http://www.statsbygg.no/) with building economy and analyses. My current main tasks are development and implementation of methods and technologies for life cycle cost analyses. During my 4.5 years at Simula I gained proficiency in analytical thinking, scientific writing and presentation. These skills are valuable in my daily work at Statsbygg.
Working at Simula, my research interest was empirical software engineering methodology, with a special focus on controlled experiments. I was working on a literature survey on controlled experiments in software engineering, investigating three aspects of experimentation:
- Randomized experiments versus quasi experiments
- Effect size estimation
- Statistical power analysis
I took my PhD degree in December 2007.
My theoretical background is in statistics and software reliability. I have been working several years as a statistician in the pharmaceutical industry with planning and analysis of clinical trials.
